Intellekt Attends ForceCon 2022
The Intellekt Group attended the first annual ForceCon 2022, a two-day industry and academic event where attendees could network with small business advisers. The University of Texas-San Antonio’s Center for Government Contracting hosted the event at the Tech Port Center in San Antonio, Texas, from May 24, 2022, through May 25, 2022. Members from Air Education Training Command (AETC), The University of Texas-San Antonio’s Center for Government Contracting, and the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center teamed up for presentations and panels.
“We must widen our network of collaborators to accelerate the ways we develop the force,” said Colonel Thomas Wegner, AETC’s Director of Analysis and Innovation. “We know that, for the Air Force to outpace an adversary’s decision cycles, we have to increase the speed and efficiency with which we work with industry. The private sector is an integral partner to meet some of our most pressing talent development and operational priorities.”
As one of 70 industry representatives, The Intellekt Group focused on networking with people from multiple joint-based military branches, discussing contracting solutions for innovative force development and mission support. We partnered with DigitalCM, a small business based in Tampa, Florida. DigitalCM provided our booth with an example of how technology can be useful as a solution for multiple training and mission support scenarios. By using cutting-edge software, Digital CM utilizes 360 videos/photos to digitally reproduce objects and environments to create 3d modeling, mapping, and training simulations for viewing with a head mounted display (HMD) or mobile device.
ForceCon 2022 also kicked off the first ever Armed Forces e-Sports Championship. Held May 28, 2022, through May 29, 2022. Players from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard competed against each other playing Halo: Infinite. The tournament was the first federally sanctioned e-Sports competition and the first gaming program adopted by the Armed Forces Sports program.
We are looking forward to not only attending the event again next year but seeing how much it will grow in the years to follow.
